Yacht Delivery Rates

Factors such as vessel size and type, location, route, time of year, weather, crew requirements, vessel features, and other delivery-specific considerations may affect the overall cost. We will work with you to provide a fair and reasonable quotation based on the specific requirements of your delivery.
The rates below are provided as general guidelines only and should not be used to estimate the cost of a specific yacht delivery. A final quotation will be provided after reviewing the details of the vessel and delivery requirements.
Crew Fees
Captain
$500.00–$550.00 per day, depending on the delivery.
The Captain’s daily rate is based on up to twelve (12) hours of service per day and is not a twenty-four (24) hour rate.
Every delivery presents different challenges and operating requirements. Certain deliveries may require extended or continuous oversight, including 24-hour operations over multiple days.
We strive to complete every delivery as efficiently as practical while maintaining our safety standards. Delivery timeframes are estimates and may be affected by weather, vessel location, time of year, vessel size and characteristics, route, mechanical issues, crew requirements, and other circumstances that may arise during the delivery.
Deckhand / Crew
$250.00–$350.00 per day, depending on experience, qualifications, and delivery requirements.
Credentialed Seaman
$350.00–$400.00 per day, depending on credentials, experience, and delivery requirements.

Travel Expenses
- Terms: Signed contract, deposit, towing membership (Boat US or Seatow), insurance declaration and credit card (supplied for fuel) REQUIRED before departure of vessel
- Provisions: $45.00 per day per person (food and supplies)
- Travel Expenses: Transportation cost round trip using practical means – rental car, train, taxi, bus or plane for longer distances. (Captains are not always local to Norfolk and might need to be flown in from different parts of the country).
- Fuel: (Credit Card required for expected fuel usage)
Fuel, oil or other consumables used during the trip will be at the owner’s expense. - Dockage: Dockage fees are passed through at cost without markup charges. Vessels traveling the Intracoastal Waterway may incur marina and dockage fees as required along the route. When the vessel is not being operated continuously for 24 hours, the crew may stay aboard the vessel overnight when appropriate and suitable for crew accommodations.
- Transit Fees/Port Charges: At owners expense no mark-up
- Credit Card payments (4% service fee charge) Payment is due upon the vessel’s arrival or upon receipt of the final invoice from Blue Water Boat Delivery. A 5% late fee will be assessed on any invoice not paid within three days of the invoice date, and an additional 5% will accrue every 15 days thereafter until the balance is paid in full.
